Amtrak Train to Martha's Vineyard      
Getting to Martha's Vineyard from NYC and other points South has never been easier!  Take Amtrak to Providence and then catch our ferry from Quonset Point to the island by following these 3 easy steps.  

How to Travel between Amtrak and Martha's Vineyard

1.  Book your Amtrak train at www.amtrak.com or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL.  Be sure to select a train that will arrive in Providence with plenty of time to catch the Shuttle, which leaves 90-minutes before each of our ferry departures.

2.  Book your ferry departure.

3.  Call the shuttle service at (401) 737-2868 ext. 2  to reserve your seat on the shuttle - just $22 per person!  Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance.

 

Airport Taxi ShuttleOur ferry service offers the closest connection to Amtrak, located only 20 miles away from the Providence Amtrak Station (PVD) centrally located at 100 Gaspee Street, Providence, RI 02903.

The cost is $22 per person (children 3 and under are free!). Please note that if you are traveling with a child who weighs less than 80 lbs or is 54 inches or shorter, you will need to provide a car seat to travel on the shuttle (RI State Law).

Shuttle reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance. You can make them by calling (401) 737-2868 ext. 2 or by visiting their website at www.airporttaxiri.com.

 

Coming from Boston?

The MBTA offers a commuter train from Boston that stops in Providence, RI.  The Providence/Stoughton line has a stop at the Providence Amtrak Station at 100 Gaspee Street, Providence, RI 02903.  MBTA passengers are encouraged to utilize our Shuttle Service.

Northeast Regional trains have been redesigned to make your onboard experience the best ever. You'll find comfortable seating with electrical outlets for your laptop computer and extra storage space for your luggage. Café Cars offer appetizing sandwiches, snacks and beverages. In our popular Quiet Car, where cell phones are silent and conversation is kept to a minimum, you can completely relax throughout the ride. 

Trains arrive at the Providence, RI (PVD) station and connect to/from Martha’s Vineyard.
